Frequently asked questions

What UK size is a French 38?

A French 38 most often matches a UK 10, a US 6 and an Italian 42. Equivalents vary from one brand to another, especially for US sizes: always compare your measurements with the brand’s size chart. Details in our women’s size conversion chart.

What is the difference between palazzo and wide-leg trousers?

It comes down to width and drape. In a French 38, palazzo pants measure 38 to 50 cm flat at the hem, in a fluid fabric with a skirt-like effect; wide-leg trousers measure 24 to 31 cm, with a straight, crisp leg inherited from tailoring. Our guide to wide-leg vs palazzo trousers details each fit.

Is cashmere finer than merino wool?

Yes, on average: a cashmere fibre measures 14 to 17 µm in diameter, against 15.6 to 20 µm for superfine or fine merino. Merino resists pilling better and is easier to care for. Full comparison: cashmere vs merino.
